RÖYKSOPP, 11/24/09 at Webster Hall in Manhattan

I had started a post on this magical night awhile ago. Couldn't really process it for days after, just kept wanting to move! Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berge were joined by guest vocalist Anneli Drecker, and they all brought IT. I was skeptical about how a guest vocalist would work in the live show, but despite having the task of filling in for such pop powerhouses as Karin Dreijer Andersson and Robyn, Drecker delivered. On Röyksopp's tracks as well as a stunning cover of Kate Bush's "Wuthering Heights", the audience was treated to the talent of a dynamic vocalist and performer. The enthusiastic crowd gave it all back, and I learned that cheap red lipstick straight up melts during an epic show. Below are a few low quality pics and hard-to-film-while-shaking-it video clips to show bit of the absolutely electric experience. Here's hoping Röyksopp doesn't keep The States waiting for four more years on their next go around!
