So Fiona Apple has always been at the top of my list as far as songwriters go, and I have fond memories of my siblings and I jamming out to every one of her albums. If I had stayed on the "I want to make music!" career path, I totally would have wanted to be a crazy prog-rock version of her (dodged a big, reverb-soaked bullet there dudes in my life!). The video for "Not About Love" features the hilarious Zach Galifinakis. Enjoy!

So apparently these employ some rudimentary Photoshop technique, but they are stunning. I particularly love the May cover of Dazed & Confused, because really, you can't go wrong with Gaspard Ulliel. You won't see anything this cool on American Men's Vogue.
From England's great I-D Magazine comes this editorial featuring model Alana Zimmer. It is photographed by Vanina Sorrenti, sister of established fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti.
While looking for a sweet Twitter background I stumbled upon the work of Matei Apostolescu, a freelance illustrator from Bucharest, Romania. It makes me smile. Check out more at Apostolescu's site, including some rockin' downloads.
Here's the trailer for Lars Von Trier's latest, Antichrist. The gorgeous Charlotte Gainsbourg just took home the prize for best actress at Cannes, which I can only assume is deserved given the squirm inducing things she has to do to Willem Dafoe and herself.

Courtesy of htmanlev on YouTube, here's "My Girls" from Thursday's show. Love how the audience is psyched about helping out with the random shout part at the end of the chorus. Highlights were this, "Fireworks", "Brother Sport" and "Summertime Clothes". The show definitely surpassed my expectations, and I'll be seeing them again ASAP.
And here's a new track they opened with, working title "What Would I Want Sky". See more at tppgreg's YouTube page.
I cannot tell you how excited I am for Nine. Musical? Yes. Fabulous? Of course. It was a little disappointing when Javier Bardem dropped out, but I'd say Daniel Day-Lewis is the ultimate replacement.
The Road on the other hand, not too sure about. I love Cormac McCarthy's book but this is not creeping me out enough. Plus, there is a little too much Charlize Theron which doesn't seem to work with the book. Forget the sex appeal, give me post-apocalypse zombie people!

Love, love, love this version. Makes me want to go down to some smoke-filled club down south in a frilly dress and dance. I'll just stay here and finish my finals though.
Even though it's an old favorite and I am a self-professed book buying whore, I don't own To Kill a Mockingbird. Luckily through the power of instant Netflix I can watch the movie whenever. This is a scene which, other than just being from an awesome movie and explaining the title and such, makes me wish Gregory Peck was serving me dinner and dispensing wisdom in the best voice ever.
