It's time for a change. Pretty Flowers, this lovely little blog, is moving (actually so is Pretty Flowers the person). Come join in the festivities and a sexy Tumblr layout:

Attempts at minimalism, And God Created Woman, and an artist's stunning finale.
My top ten, of many great collections, after the jump.

DAYS OF HEAVEN, and I'm Still Stuck in Days of the DVD
Wednesday, March 17, 2010 | Posted by Lilly at 10:00 PM |
O technology's march, you've left me lonely again. My life doesn't read Blu-ray discs yet. It's a torturous condition compounded by the fact that on March 23, Criterion will be releasing the Blu-ray edition of Terrence Malick's masterpiece from 1978, Days of Heaven.
Let's break down this film's genius (as filtered through me):
It is flooded by my own sentimentality. There are lots of horses.
It's set in rural America at the second most recent turn of the century.
Ennio Morricone created the stunning score.
It makes me want to pack my trunk and make my getaway to Alberta 'Movie-World-Texas', Canada.
Above all else, it's the cinematography. Though he was going blind during production, Néstor Almendros made every shot amazing. So challenges to credit by Haskell Wexler aside, here are some perfect images, the beauty of which can overshadow the sexiness of vintage Richard Gere, not to mention Sam Shepherd (who is a real horseman, in real life).
Perfection, perfection.
LE MONDE D`HERMÈS, or, Selling it Well
| Posted by Lilly at 9:13 PM |
Legendary fashion house Hermès, with it's creative director Jean Paul Gaultier, presented a wonderful Emma Peel, Clockwork-esque collection last week. The house also presents an editorial style lookbook seasonally, the quality of which should serve as a standard for fashion advertising. Below are some shots from recent years, scanned by those mag-lovin' folks at The Fashion Spot. Revel in the gorgeousness of Le Monde d`Hermès.

Yeah, you've already watched Lady GaGa and Beyoncé's video for "Telephone". Not as good as "Bad Romance". I really just wanted an excuse to post the image below. Bless you MemeGenerator.
ARTPARIS+GUESTS 2010

Yet another reason why I should jet to Europe, by hook or by crook.
ARTPARIS+GUESTS is a contemporary art fair, which attempts to promote collaboration in addition to the individual work of artist. To boot, it's happening at the lovely Paris venue Le Grand Palais.
